ABOUT WORKING WITH NORTHERN PATHWAYS EQUINE CENTER
Because we are a small, volunteer-run organization, all our activities take place by appointment and program access is limited. Some of our children's programs require that your child be part of Centra Wellness's SafeNet Program (GALLOP/BRONCO) or the Manistee Intermediate School District (COWPOKES.) Participation in HOOFPRINTS requires evaluation by our Physical Therapist, and spots fill up very fast. Please email us at [email protected] for more information.
VOLUNTEERS
We are always seeking volunteers with Equine Therapy, PT/OT or Speech Therapy experience. We are also interested in those who are familiar with horses and have experience working with them. Our regular volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and those 18 years or older must complete a background check.
PEER VOLUNTEERS
We do work with volunteers age 11-16 if they're available to serve as Peer Volunteers in the mornings before the school year ends in spring and after it begins in the fall. Our Peer Volunteers partner with children in COWPOKES during those sessions, and we expect them to model responsibility, kindness, respect for themselves and others, and the ability to understand and follow directions. As we get to know you, additional volunteer opportunities may become available.
HOW TO BEGIN
If you're interested in participating in activities at Northern Pathways Equine Center, either as a volunteer or a client, your first step will be to review our Participant Information Form, which you can do by clicking the button below. Please download and print it if you are able, fill it out, and bring it with you when you visit the farm. If you cannot print it, we'll have a hard copy available for you when you arrive. (Note that HIPAA restrictions do not allow us to provide fillable forms on our site. Please do not email completed scanned forms to us unless you are able to do so using a HIPAA-approved server.)
